This label says “25% less fat than peanut butter.”  All good, right?  Except, it doesn’t say “less than regular peanut butter.”  This product has qualities that (all) peanut butter does not.  That is, this product in my hand must not be peanut butter.

It looks like peanut butter, and is made by JIF, and I will put it, with jelly, on bread, but it is, according to the label, something other than peanut butter.

And I realize that nowhere does it actually say what it is.  Perhaps it is simply “JIF,” but I’m pretty sure the company produces more than just this peanut butter.  What is this product?  How has it slipped past the FDA?  WHAT AM I EATING??
