Spaces

There are a variety of spaces out there.  These are some.

21 Space - This is all the areas you aren’t legally allowed to enter when you are under 21.  It includes bars, clubs, stripper-places, liquor stores, and some concert venues.   On the conceptual worldmap of 19-year-olds, these places are blank, “here be dragons!”

Disney Space - This is all the behind-the-scenes stuff at Disneyworld.  I read that there are tunnels underneath everything, and underground tram lines, and whatever’s really inside Cinderella’s Palace.  You can’t go here unless you work for Disney.

Un-Space - The empty abandoned areas of the world.  Warehouses, the corridors behind shops in malls, dark tunnels, stairwells, old boarded up houses, various underground infrastructures.  As defined by Steven Hall in The Raw Shark Texts.

Fiction Space
- This is where all the places in books, comics, and movies are, as if in an overlay over the real world.  Fiction Space includes Yoknapatawpha County and Lilliput, Metropolis and Gotham, even Liberty City and Degrassi Junior High.

There’s also a suite up there, for people who’re willing to sell and arm and a leg. And yes, there’s tunnels underneath...
